Lead times have been reduced since moving to the new factory in 2023, thanks to increased storage space for thousands of tonnes of steel, allowing more flexibility in production schedules for our in-house designing & manufacturing team. Investing in CNC beam processing machinery has meant absolute precision and brought more processes in-house, this vertical integration of the business has given us further versatility to respond to customer needs like never before.

We’ve Been Building For Over 30 Years
Since diversifying from a family farm in 1994, we have manufactured & erected thousands of steel framed buildings, largely in North Yorkshire but with buildings as far away as Drimnin, Oban.
Since our manufacturing capacity increased in 2023 with a new purpose-built factory on a 7-acre site near Thirsk, we are welcoming enquiries from further afield.
Customers’ exacting requirements are at the heart of everything we do, we go to extreme lengths to provide our customers with exactly what they require. Our 1800m2 factory has been designed to improve efficiency of manufacturing processes giving our customers the best possible price.

Company History
1994 – First building made and erected near Northallerton
1995 – First employee started with the business, he remains with the business after nearly 30 years.
2002- Moved out of the original workshop due to company growth.
2004 – John M Walker Farm Buildings becomes a Limited Company.
2009 – New office built to accommodate growing design team.
2018 – Workshop is destroyed by a fire, it was rebuilt and operational in under 3 months.
2019 – New site bought at Sandhutton due to continually increasing demand.
2023 – New factory built and operational at Sandhutton.
